- The Company will utilize the funds on technology and to hire more people
Toch, a media-tech startup, has raised over $1 million in its latest round of funding, from investors including SOSV and its accelerator, Chinaccelerator, 9 Unicorns Fund, and Inflection Point Ventures. The startup was founded by Vinayak Srivastav, Saket Dandotia, and Alok Patil in 2016.
Toch helps online video creators, media companies, advertisers, and OTT platforms to optimise videos and meta-tags by the use of AI and deep learning. The company also helps broadcasters monetise live events, provide auto subtitles for live events in different languages based on the viewer’s location, and enable automatic meta-tagging.
The startup will deploy these funds to deepen tech, and hire more people.
In a media statement, William Bao Bean, Partner at SOSV and Managing Director at Chinaccelerator, said,
“The amount of video content from broadcast media and live streamers is ballooning. We believe that Toch’s ability to automatically analyse, edit, curate, and publish video content in real-time without having to take the content out of the customers’ cloud removes the need for a hugely labour intensive process.”
Saket Dandotia, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Toch, said,
“Having SOSV on board will help Toch to expand in the global market.”
Toch(Vogueme) is the world’s first interactive video platform that comes with SDK’s and Mobile application , empowering users to add clickable hotspots, or ‘tags’, to any moving person or object in video. Proven to increase engagement up to nine times higher than a static link at the bottom of the video frame, these tags encourage viewers to explore extra content which is hidden inside the video, opportunities to buy or help create immersive experiences.
