The company also announced the appointment of Deepak M Satwalekar, a widely respected financial services professional, to its Board of Directors for five years effective July 1, 2020, subject to the approval of the shareholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deepak will serve as an Independent Director on the Board and will bring a wealth of experience to Wipro having spent over four decades in the financial services industry and as an advisor and Board member of companies from diverse industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Until recently, Thierry Delaporte was the Chief Operating Officer of Capgemini Group and a member of its Group Executive Board. During his twenty-five year career with Capgemini, he held several leadership roles including that of Chief Executive Officer of the Global Financial Services Strategic Business Unit, and head of all global service lines. He also oversaw Capgemini\u2019s India operations, and led the group\u2019s transformation agenda, conceptualizing and driving several strategic programs across various business units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>In a press release Rishad Premji, Chairman, Wipro Limited, said, <\/p><cite>\u201cI am delighted to welcome Thierry as CEO and Managing Director of the company. He is also the Co-founder and President of the not-for-profit organization Life Project 4 Youth.
